Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Salonat (“Salonat”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Salonat mobile application, websites, and related services (the “Service”). Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, downloading or using the app, visiting a Salonat web page, or clicking to accept these Terms where offered, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) and able to form a binding contract.
• You must not be barred from using the Service under applicable law or have had a Salonat account terminated for violations of these Terms.
• You represent that information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it current.
• You will not allow minors to use your account or submit their personal information through your salon without lawful authority and appropriate safeguards—which Salonat does not provide for under-18 use.

3. Accounts and security

• Registration: matchmaker accounts require a valid email, password, phone number, and public handle. Phone numbers help us recognize existing users when you invite people and reduce duplicate SMS.
• One person, one account: do not create multiple accounts to evade bans, harass others, or manipulate ratings or knocks unless we explicitly allow a business feature.
• Credentials: keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account until you notify us of unauthorized access and we have a reasonable opportunity to respond.
• No impersonation: do not pretend to be another person, misstate your identity, or use someone else’s photos or contact details without permission.
• Inviting others: when you add participants or send SMS through Salonat, you confirm you have a lawful basis to contact them and that the information you provide (name, phone, descriptions) is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

4. The Service

Salonat is a social networking and matchmaking platform that lets trusted hosts run private salons, introduce people they know, communicate through icebreakers and optional deeper flows (including Mashroobat), customize avatars, furnish 3D salon spaces, and visit public salons. Features change over time; we may add, remove, or limit functionality for maintenance, safety, legal compliance, or product reasons.

The Service may include realtime features (for example Socket.io), SMS notifications when enabled, and public salon pages identified by your handle. Beta or TestFlight builds may behave differently from production.

5. User conduct

You agree not to:

• harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any person;
• post hate speech, violent threats, or content that demeans people based on protected characteristics;
• share sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, or exploitation of any person;
• dox or publish another person’s private contact or address information without consent;
• impersonate others or create deceptive profiles;
• spam, phish, run scams, or solicit money from other users through the Service without our permission;
• scrape, crawl, or reverse engineer the Service except where law expressly permits;
• upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with servers or networks;
• use bots or automation to create accounts, knocks, ratings, or messages without authorization;
• violate another person’s intellectual property or privacy rights;
• use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of export or sanctions laws.

Reporting: if someone behaves badly, contact hello@salonat.app with specifics. In-app reporting may be added later; we will investigate good-faith reports even when tooling is limited.

6. User-generated content — your license to us

You retain ownership of content you submit (“UGC”)—including photos, text, voice notes, avatar customization, salon layouts, messages, and notes—subject to third-party rights.

By submitting UGC, you grant Salonat a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for technical formatting), display, perform, distribute, and otherwise use your UGC only as needed to operate, improve, promote, and secure the Service, including showing your profile or salon to the audiences described in our Privacy Policy and enforcing these Terms.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your UGC does not violate law or third-party rights.

7. Content moderation

We may—but have no obligation to—monitor UGC or conduct. We may remove content, disable features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, and cooperate with law enforcement without prior notice when we believe it necessary for safety, legal compliance, or protection of Salonat and users.

Decisions about moderation are in our reasonable discretion. Repeat or egregious violations may result in permanent bans.

8. Matchmaking and introductions

• Introductions are initiated by people you know (salon hosts and participants), not by Salonat as a professional matchmaking agency.
• We do not guarantee compatibility, relationship outcomes, marriage, or any particular offline result.
• Descriptions and preferences you or hosts enter may be inaccurate; we do not independently verify every statement.
• You choose whether to accept matches, continue icebreakers, or reveal information. You may decline at any stage supported by the product.

9. Safety and offline interactions

Your interactions are your responsibility. If you meet someone in person, you assume the risks. Salonat does not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification beyond what the product implements, or safety screening of users. We do not guarantee that users are who they claim to be.

Use common sense: meet in public places, tell a friend where you are going, arrange your own transportation, and stop contact if you feel unsafe. Nothing in the Service replaces emergency services—call local authorities if you are in danger.

Screenshots and sharing outside Salonat are outside our control. Do not share sensitive information in chats unless you trust the recipient.

10. Intellectual property

Salonat’s name, logos, app design, software, default avatar assets, catalog furniture, and documentation are owned by Salonat or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, we reserve all rights.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our software or branding without written permission.

11. Virtual items, salon assets, and cosmetics

Current product: you may customize avatars and salon layouts using assets we provide or URLs you save subject to technical validation. You do not acquire ownership of Salonat’s underlying 3D models, textures, or catalog items—only a limited right to use them within the Service.

Future features: we may offer paid cosmetics, furniture, subscriptions, or virtual currency. If we do, additional rules will apply (non-refundable where permitted, no real-world cash value unless stated, no unauthorized trading). We may modify or discontinue virtual items without liability except where required by law or platform billing rules (for example Apple App Store).

12. Payments and subscriptions

Today: core Salonat features described on our marketing site are offered without in-app purchases processed by Salonat. If that changes, we will publish pricing, renewal terms, and refund rules before charging you.

Future billing: purchases through Apple or Google may be governed by their payment terms. You must manage subscriptions in platform account settings where applicable. Unless law requires otherwise, fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period begins.

13. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to third-party sites or use third-party providers (SMS, hosting, analytics, storage). Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Salonat is not responsible for third-party content or conduct.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by emailing hello@salonat.app; we will process requests as our systems and legal obligations allow (some data may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy).

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms, create risk for others, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (licenses granted for prior UGC to the extent already shared, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute terms) will survive termination.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those cases, disclaimers apply to the fullest extent permitted.

16. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SALONAT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID SALONAT FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50), EXCEPT WHERE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW SUCH A CAP (FOR EXAMPLE CERTAIN MANDATORY CONSUMER RIGHTS).

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE WHERE SUCH LIMITATION IS PROHIBITED, OR FOR FRAUD OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT.

17. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Salonat and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your UGC, your interactions with other users (including offline meetings), your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights—except to the extent caused by Salonat’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

Except where prohibited, you agree that disputes will be brought in the competent courts located in Cairo, Egypt, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Before filing suit, you agree to contact us at hello@salonat.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.

EU/UK consumers: you may have mandatory rights to bring claims in your country of residence; nothing here limits those rights where they apply.

19. Copyright and takedown notices

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@salonat.app including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work; (2) identification of the material and where it appears; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement of good-faith belief; (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act; and (6) your physical or electronic signature. We may remove or disable access to alleged infringing material and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required (for example in-app or by email). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where law requires explicit consent.
